Backa Topola is a town settlement in the northern Backa district near Vojvodina. The Bačka Topola Museum, a Pannonian-type farmhouse with a garden, the Pala Kraia Castle and a windmill are located here. The Baron's Castle was completed in 1805.  Baron Pal Krai himself ordered the construction in 1802.  years.  No more detailed information is available on construction and works.  It is interesting to note that this was the first house in the municipality (except for the Catholic Church) and was the pearl of the then settlement.  The former Krai family citadel houses the City Museum and the Native Archives upstairs today, while the ground floor houses a gallery and a wedding hall. The workshop where the coaches and blacksmiths worked together is a unique facility of its kind in our country.  Blacksmith and collar trades in Backa Topola have a long tradition and are most likely present in the life of the settlement since the settlement itself in the 18th century.  The blacksmiths and collars from Backa Topola have been very good at all the secrets of their craft.  Circles of Baccopolitan masters were a favorite throughout the southern rim of the Pannonian Plain.  They made characteristic wheel frames with special patterns and developed specific types of wheels.  The exhibit material is extensive and valuable and cannot be found elsewhere.  The workshop is under state protection. At the end of the 19th century, four windmills operated in the territory of Backa Topola, but to this day there is only one.  The Baccopolitan windmill belongs to a family of typical Vojvodina windmills with four floors.  In the late 80's it was moved from the original location to the shore of the lake.  Since 1987 it has been functioning as a museum and monument to the mill industry of our region.  It is currently closed to visitors.
