Tour description:
he tour departs from your preferred location in Belgrade at 8 am (hotel or other type of accommodation address recommended).
On this tour you will visit several fortresses and acheological sites from different historical periods.
The first stop is Viminacium, an archological site near small town of Kostolac. It was the capital of Roman province of Moesia Superior and was built by Justinian I after being destroyed by Huns in 440. In the late 6th century, the city was destroyed again and for all by Avar raiders. Today, the archaeological site contains remains of temples, streets, squares, amphitheatres, palaces, hippodromes and Roman baths. Within the archaeological site there is a Mammoth park with spectacular skeleton of 5 million year old mammoth.
Golubac Fortress was built by the Hungarians, called Galambocz, on the same site as the Roman Castrum Columbarum. Golubac was captured by the Turks in 1391. and changed ownership several times before being finally reclaimed by the Serbs in 1867.
Last stop on this tour will be Lepenski Vir – the oldest urban settlement of human in Europe! Chronology of Lepen Whirl is compressed between 9500/7200-6000 BC. The site consists of one large settlement with around ten satellite villages. Numerous piscine sculptures and peculiar architecture have been found at the site.
The tour lasts 12 hours, so the arrival to Belgrade is in the evening (the guide will drop you off at requested location).

It was geat tour with various historical periods. The guide Marko had answers on all our questions and told a lot of interesting facts. Viminacium and Lepeski Vir are sites of world importance and very nice presented! We really enjoyed our trip and sure we will book some more in the future!
