Necessary restraint for a tour of the Monastery of Mileševa - the shrine under the wing of the White Angel. Here you will have the opportunity to hear an interesting story about the history and the intriguing facts about the monastery and the surroundings of the Mileševa region. The Mileševa Monastery, one of the greatest shrines that has played an invaluable role in the cultural, spiritual and national history of our people, is known to Serbs as the home of the famous White Angel fresco, but also the burial place of Saint Sava. The medieval monastery, the endowment of Serbian King Vladislav Nemanjic, was erected in the first half of the 13th century. The seat of the diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church, on the walls of the eight centuries old, preserves some of the most valuable achievements of Serbian fresco painting.
We continue our journey towards Jadovnik Mountain. We make occasional short stays while touring this beautiful mountain (enjoying unique scenery and landscapes of untouched nature, taking photos, tasting spring water, snack breaks). Jadovnik is a mountain in southwestern Serbia, along the border with Montenegro, southeast of Prijepolje, and 15 km west of Sjenica. It is 12 km long. Its highest peak is Katunić with an altitude of 1732 m. Jadovnik is, first of all, known for its gorge of the Mileševka River, where the habitat of white-tailed soup is one of only three in this part of Europe and Serbia.
The next destination is the village of Sopotnica. Here you will enjoy the amazing sight of the waterfalls of the Sopotnica River. This village is located on the slopes of Jadovnik Mountain, and the amazing waterfalls of the Sopotnica River are the main attraction of this area. The companion and her waterfalls have been proclaimed a protected natural asset of exceptional importance. Coffee break and farm holiday. In this way, through direct contact with the local population of this area, you will get to know their lifestyle and have the opportunity to try gastronomic specialties prepared in the traditional way and characteristic of this region.
