Itinerary:
Day 1 - December 31, 2024
Departure from Novi Sad at 13:00 and from Belgrade at 14:30—the New Year's excitement begins! We arrive directly at our hotel, where we’ll stay for the next two days. Hotel Srbija 3* is ideally located in the center of Vršac. Upon arrival, a welcome cocktail will help us relax and embrace the New Year’s spirit. After check-in, there will be free time to prepare for the New Year’s Eve celebration. We’ll ring in the New Year in the beautiful and spacious hall of our hotel, accompanied by a fantastic band playing local folk and popular music, creating the perfect atmosphere to welcome midnight. The celebration will be enriched with an impressive selection of food and drinks, so all you need to bring is a cheerful spirit. Overnight stay.
Day 2 - January 1, 2025
After a late breakfast, we leave the hotel at 11:00 a.m. for a tour of beautiful Vršac, starting with a stroll through the town. Nestled at the foot of the Vršac Mountains and surrounded by vineyards, Vršac is truly unique, not only for its natural beauty but also for its rich cultural heritage. We’ll visit the Cathedral Church and then the Bishop’s Palace, built in 1672. This residence, with its French-style courtyard, two fountains, and baroque fence, was built by Bishop Jovan Georgijević with permission from Queen Maria Theresa. Inside, it houses the Wonderworking Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos from the 15th and 16th centuries, though unfortunately, entry is restricted. A short drive brings us to the largest monastery in the Banat Diocese—Mesić Monastery. Nestled at the foot of a hill, this monastery is a cultural heritage site of exceptional significance, with frescoes dating back to the 11th and 12th centuries. Upon entering, you’ll feel the deep history and tranquility that fills this sacred space. After the monastery, we’ll have lunch at the Dinar ethnic restaurant, where you’ll enjoy traditional Vojvodina flavors. Free time follows for preparation for the encore New Year’s celebration. This night’s event is unique, held at the exclusive Helvecija Winery’s Barrique restaurant, featuring an unforgettable performance by the band Paket Aranžman. Expect a grand gala with a lavish menu of food and drinks. Late return to the hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 3 - January 2, 2025
Breakfast and check-out by 10:00 a.m. We head to Gudurica and the Malo Središte Monastery, located on a scenic slope overlooking the Serbian Banat. This ancient monastery has a turbulent history, having been destroyed and rebuilt several times. Construction of the new monastery began in 1995. After exploring the monastery, we head to lunch at the Bahus Winery. This family-owned winery, established about a decade ago as a hobby, now produces seven types of wine from its own 10-hectare vineyard. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to taste wines paired with Vojvodina cuisine specialties.
After lunch, we depart for Novi Sad and Belgrade, returning in the evening. End of the program.
