Hiking tour through the gorge Niševac
Tour description:
Departure from Belgrade in the early morning hours (the exact place and time will be known the day before the trip - the organizer sends an e-mail with all the details of the departure, if you do not get the message the day before the trip, do not hesitate to contact the agency).
Driving through the highway Belgrade - Niš. After the exclusion from the highway we will take a break and visit the winery "Malča" . Here you will have the opportunity to see a short film about the creation of a wine cellar and the way of making clay amphora from Georgia which are considered to be the oldest wine vessels. In the winery there are four wine houses: Roman house, Nemanjića house, Serbian house and Modern winery. In each wine house you will be able to experience four wine and time epochs, four ways of wine culltivation.
We continue the road to the Nisevacka gorge. In the village of Nisevac, in the yard of the local church of St. Ilija, you will have the opportunity to taste the local shepherd's dish - Belmuz - the famous specialty of Eastern Serbia. The church of St. Ilija was built in 1890 on the ancient remains of an already existing religious building.
After charching the batteries we are ready to go to the gorge. We will follow the Roman road, the oldest and most important route of the anceint days in the Balkans which connected the Adriatic coast and the Danube River. During the tour you will have opportunity to see the bridge for which our famous mathematician and astronom (one of the most famous Serbian scientists, whom NASA ranked in the 15th biggest scientist who studied the Earth ), Milutin Milanković mada a project for the future route of the railway Niš-Knjaževac, the remains of the old town Svrljig, the Bulgarian bunker from Second World War, the fossils remains from the neogene period when this area was covered with the sea, Banjica - a natural bathing pool on the river Svrljiški Timok that attracted a great number of tourists from ancient times until now. At Banjica we will make a short break with the possibility of swimming ( if the weather condition permit).
After visiting the gorge we'll go to lunch at the restaurant "Kamiondzije" in Svrljig (optional)
Arrival in Belgrade in the late evening hours.
