The municipality of Kosjerić is the northernmost municipality in the Zlatibor district, in the western part of Serbia. In the Middle Ages, this region was part of the Nemanjić state until the fall of Serbia under Turkish rule in 1463. During the next two centuries, the roads leading from the sea to Western Serbia and to the Danube and the east intersected here, just like before the Turks. The good geographical position of Kosjerić is enhanced by the proximity of the famous tourist centers of Zlatibor (56 km away) and Divčibar (26 km). On the territory of the municipality, there are close to a hundred cultural and historical monuments, the most valuable of which is the Log Church in the village of Seča Reka, built in the 15th century, burned down and rebuilt several times, and got its present appearance in the time of Karađorđe, in 1812.
