Bečej is a town in the South Backa District in Vojvodina. This small town is an economic center in the middle reaches of the Tisza through Serbia. It is located on an important road connecting Novi Sad and Subotica. The city was first mentioned in 1091. Thermal waters represent a significant wealth of this city. Thanks to them, there is the City Bath, today the Jodna Spa, since 1904. In its immediate vicinity, there is a Youth Sports Center with an indoor and outdoor Olympic pool, Mountain Park and Nursery and the former Bela Lađa a Hotel, which together form an exceptional visitor complex in the immediate vicinity of the Tisa excursion site. At a distance of about 12 kilometers from Becej in the direction of the Becej-Backa Topola road is a castle built in the 1920s by the famous landlord Bogdan Dundjerski.  Today, it has been remodeled into a high-class Fantast hotel in the B category. In the immediate vicinity, there is a chapel whose iconostasis, murals and mosaic above the entrance were made by the famous painter Uros Predic. There is also a well-known stud farm. The Tisa River flows through the territory of the municipality, and there is the Grand Bačka Canal, the Beljanska Pond as well as a number of smaller fish-rich canals, all of which provide a great source for fishing lovers.
