
Gamzigrad is an archaeological site located near the town of Zaječar, in eastern Serbia. Felix Romuliana is an extraordinary archaeological site, which covers an area of 6.5 hectares. Here are the remains of the late antique imperial palace, fortified by defensive walls, with small hexagonal towers. Gamzigrad has been on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List since 2007. The famous Gamzigrad spa is located near the archaeological site. Nature has gifted this place with several sources of thermal mineral waters, which are considered alkaline earth - hypertherms, i.e. acrotherms. The construction and decoration of the bathroom began in 1920. In 1978, the modern Special Hospital for Rehabilitation "Gamzigrad" was built and started operating on the very coast of Crni Timok, on the natural springs of thermo-mineral water with a temperature of 42º C from a depth of 303 m.
