Majdanpek is a town settlement in Serbia in the municipality of Majdanpek in the Bor district, in the narrow valley of the Mali Pek river. To the north of Majdanpek on the Danube, i.e. in the Đerdap gorge, at a distance of about 22 kilometers, the nearest place is Donji Milanovac. The surroundings of Majdanpek are predominantly hilly and mountainous, surrounded by mountains, Miroča in the northeast, Deli Jovan in the east, Stola in the south, Mali Krs and Veliki Krs in the southwest, Homoljski mountains in the west and Starica and Šomrda mountain massifs in the northwest. To the west of the town of Majdanpek are the northern slopes of the Homoljske Mountains (923 m). Dense hundred-year-old forests, caves, the gold-bearing river Pek, the 14th-century Gornjak monastery, the source of the Mlava river, rich in trout. In the north of Kučaj, near Majdanpek, there is the beech rainforest "Feljišana", a strict nature reserve of category I under state protection.
