The Pešter Plateau (also known as Pešter) is a karst plateau at an altitude of about 1,250 meters, located in southwestern Serbia, southeast of Sjenica, and northwest of Tutin. This plateau is the source of peat, which with its bio-potential is one of the highest quality both in Europe and in the world. It is rich in dry land for grazing sheep, which is why the whole region is widely known for its cow and sheep milk products. On the Pešter plateau there is also the famous Pešter field, where, according to legend, St. George killed the dragon. Pešter is characterized by pure, unspoiled nature, as well as many rivers, the largest of which is Borovštica. Archaeologists of the Ras Museum found the remains of ancient Slavic temples on the Pešter plateau.
