Nikolje Monastery is located in the village of Rošci in the Ovčarsko-Kablar Gorge, at the foot of Mount Kablar. This monastery is one of the most important Ovčar-Kablar monasteries, which is why this area is called the Serbian Holy Mountain. Nicholas Church is small and it is unusual that it is entered from the south side. The monastery treasury is significant. The church exhibits frescoes from the 16th and 17th centuries, and there are also some from the 19th century. The Treasury has manuscript books and some valuable church antiquities. This is where the famous Nicholas Gospel was written on small sheets in Cyrillic letters, in leather binding, with "golden" miniature illustrations. During the First World War, the manuscript disappeared from the archives of the National Library in Niš, only to later appear in Dublin, Ireland.
