Among the monuments in the vicinity of Užice, the memorial complex on Kadinjača (14 km west of Užice) stands out. The monument is dedicated to the fighters of the Užice Workers' Battalion, Posavci and Orašani who sacrificed themselves on November 29, 1941, protecting the retreat of the main partisan forces from Užice towards Sandžak. In commemoration of the resistance of the defenders of Užice, in 1952 the Monument was discovered - a pyramid under which there is an ossuary containing the remains of most of the fighters who died on Kadinjača. In 1979, a new memorial complex was unveiled, when the Workers' Battalion was awarded the Order of the National Hero. In the authentic area of the Battle of Kadinjača, sculptor Miodrag Živković and architectural engineer Aleksandar Đokić from Belgrade gave the conceptual solution for the monumental memorial composition and the Memorial House building.
