Trebinje is located in the southern part of the Republic of Srpska and is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Herzegovina. It is situated beneath the Leotar mountain in the valley of the Trebišnjica river, which runs through the city center. Trebinje is only 23 km away from Dubrovnik, 35 km from Herceg-Novi, and 100 km from Mostar, where the nearest airport is located. Due to its proximity to the sea, Trebinje has a mild and warm Mediterranean climate. The city is also known as the "city of sun and plane trees" because of the 260 sunny days it has throughout the year and the centuries-old plane trees that can be found in the city center.
