Ovčar Spa is a spa with an extremely long tradition and name, which was officially recognized as a spa only in 2011. On the basis of archaeological finds, it was concluded that its thermal springs were also used during prehistoric times. Excavation of the area around the spring brought us the knowledge that many thousands of years ago polytheists gathered around the thermal mineral springs of the health resort to perform religious ceremonies. Ovčar Spa is located in the Moravičko district, Čačak municipality, in the very central part of the mountainous Ovčarsko - Kablarska gorge at 278 meters above sea level. The area of Western Pomerania and in general that part of central Serbia is characterized by thermal and mineral springs and spa resorts formed around them (Vrnjačka Banja, Mataruška Banja, Bogutovačka Banja, etc.). There are several sources of thermal water in Ovčar Banja. They spring from limestone and their temperature is between 36 and 38 ̊ C. It is interesting to mention that there is a source of sheep's homeotherm in the river bed itself. For medicinal purposes, these waters are used in therapies by bathing and covering diseased parts of the body. Indications for treatment in Ovčar Banja are rheumatic diseases, degenerative rheumatism, spondylosis, arthrosis, consequences of bone fractures, nerve diseases, muscle tissue injuries, skin diseases.
