Tour description:
Departure from Novi Sad at 9 am from your hotel or a location by agreement.
We'll head to Rakovac Monastery, an active women's monastery today. In the early decades of the 18th century, this monastery was a very active center for transcribing manuscripts, including the copying of Dušan's Code. The monastery church is dedicated to St. Cosmas and Damian and was one of the most beautiful churches built in the 16th century in Serbia. Throughout its history, it suffered several damages, most recently in a major fire in 2005, destroying monastery buildings, all the monastery's documentation, liturgical books, garments treasured for decades, furniture, crockery, and clothes. 'Everything that was the heart of Rakovac.'
After the monastery, we'll head to Majkinu Radionicu in Banoštor - an association founded in 2010, with a tradition spanning over a hundred years. Members of the association engage in making souvenirs, embroidery, and sewing, allowing you to create a souvenir to take along with your memories.
Next, we'll visit the family-owned Stojković Winery. We'll tour their beautifully arranged household and the cellar dating back to 1912. This family owns vineyards covering about 2.5 hectares. They cultivate Italian Riesling and Chardonnay among white grape varieties, and Cabernet Sauvignon, Vranac, Rosé from Slankamenka, and Hamburg among reds. They also produce the renowned Fruška Gora Bermet.
After the winery, we suggest a lunch break at Gaston Wine, a wine farm just a few minutes away.
This Fruška Gora farm has retained the authentic spirit of the past and, being located on the banks of the Danube, in the beautiful natural surroundings of the village of Neštin, we are sure you'll enjoy it. It's important to note that everything you'll taste here, from food to drinks, is exclusively of the highest quality and locally sourced.
We'll return to Novi Sad in the early evening (app 5 p.m.). End of the tour.
