We start our tour traveling to Sremska Mitrovica, one of the oldest cities in Serbia and Vojvodina, under whose streets and houses have hidden the remains of the once-powerful and luxurious Roman city of Sirmium. After a panoramic tour of Sremska Mitrovica and a short walk through the city, visit the city museum - The Museum of Srem, founded just before the end of World War II, in 1946, and whose foundation is closely related to archaeological finds from the time of the Roman city of Sirmium.
Our next stop is the visit of The Imperial Palace, a unique archaeological site. At this site, you will see a part of the imperial complex (Sirmium Palatium Imperiale) where there are numerous fragments of frescoes, mosaic floors, as well as the architectural decoration of various stones delivered from around the world, which we know will not leave you indifferent.
After the tour, we will head to Zasavica, a special nature reserve, as one of the few places in the world where you can see a preserved area with diverse flora and fauna. This reserve is a unique natural phenomenon of great importance and beauty.
The exceptional natural environment, large pasture with a lookout and the reserve Zasavica is a place that is especially interested for our youngest guests who can learn everything about rare plant and animal species, as well as adults who are coming here to find some piece and quiet.
The Zasavica Reserve is also the last meeting place for beavers in Serbia and Europe. The largest donkey farm in Southeast Europe is another treasure and landmark of Zasavica. Donkey milk is used for face creams products, soaps and the famous donkey cheese, which requires as much as 25 liters of milk per kilogram. One kilogram of this specialty requires up to 1000 euros, and it is on the menu of the most exclusive restaurants in the world. Be sure to try homemade cracklings, sausages, as well as specialties such as Mangalica goulash, as well as donkey milk cheese.
We will climb the 18-meter high wooden tower, from which you will enjoy a beautiful view of the entire reserve. If you want, you can take a boat ride through Zasavica itself, which is for fans of photo safaris, as well as for children, a real pleasure and a special experience. Free time for lunch, rest and outdoor activities.
Return to Belgrade in the late afternoon.
